Mission Statement
Since the city’s origins stem from broadly understood cultural diversity, be it national, ethnic, linguistic, political, ideological, moral, economic, or artistic, one could advance a thesis that the town is a centre of unlimited and inexhaustible variety, a template of pluralism and democracy.
City, the complex and intricate space of human life and the result of human cultural activity. City, the public sphere of innumerable simultaneous human inter(actions), where multiple viewpoints and communication channels intersect, where sounds, lights and images superimpose on each other.City, the place of contact and exchange, mobility, continuous activity and transformation. Whereas diversity is the bond that brings the city’s inhabitants together, respect towards it is the ethical and moral standard.
With this approach in mind city seems a difficult task which requires constant and relentless initiative on the part of its residents. From this perspective the city’s character is a reflection of the character of its inhabitants.
The Foundation’s aim is to support all initiatives that stimulate and enrich cultural life in towns all over Poland.
The City Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation, registered in the National Court Register on the 10th March 2006.
